Handmade necklace features 8 vintage or antique carved intaglio (raised) cameos and one reverse glass intaglio (carved out from the front, top, right) cameos manufactured early last century. They are all in their original frames except for the center bottom one and the earrings which are in new frames. The history of carved “intaglio” cameos goes back to 5,000 BC when gemstones were used for carving. The three on the top row are 40 x 30 mm. The three on the second row are 25 x 18 mm. The 2 left of the center on the bottom row are 18 x 13 mm. The center bottom is 14 x 10 mm. Excellent condition. Largest teardrop dangles like the earrings are gemstone black agate. The others are faceted black crystal. Necklace is a roomy 17″ thick, flat choker chaplet with an east slot closure. European beads are black Indonesian with gold overlays, cats eye glass , crystal glass and gold plated. Matching vintage glass 25 x 18 mm cameo earrings.
